Campos de Solana – Tannat

$24.95

Campos de Solana’s Tannat is well balanced and structured, with aromas of black cherries, blackberries and plums.

Tannat is a relatively unknown grape outside of South America and the Madiran region of France. Campos de Solana has been able to use Tarija's altitude to its advantage by focusing some of their acreage on growing this thick-skinned grape. Campos has been able to smooth out Tannat's tannic nature and make this a grape varietal with international appeal. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks and a short maceration period using the Délestage technique, make this wine very approachable in its youth, whereas tannats from other parts of the world tend to require a much longer aging process. This wine is well balanced and structured, with aromas of black cherries, blackberries and plums.
